National Construction Investigators Association

Members Only

Members,

As you are aware, I had the dreadful task of announcing the cancellation of the 2009 conference as well as the 2010 conference due to the economic climate and other factors.

You are also aware that NASCLA has long been a true friend and mentor to our association and have graciously and generously supported us for many years. Well, as early as January 2010, your executive committee began discussions with NASCLA to determine if and to what extent NASCLA could assist us during these trying times. Their executive committee expressed how they had heard great things about our training conferences, how much they believed in the importance of our association and the quality investigator training we provide.

These preliminary talks resulted in an invitation for your 1st Vice President, Mr. Dale Dawson and myself to attend the 2010 NASCLA conference in Charleston, SC where both Dale and I were provided an opportunity to address their membership and provide a presentation regarding the NCIA.

We were almost overwhelmed with the acceptance and level of interest expressed regarding a somewhat closer relationship with them and how they embraced the idea of a possible NICA Training/NASCLA Conference.

While there remain a few details to be worked out, I am EXTREMELY excited to announce that, due to the efforts of your executive committee and the executive committee of NASCLA, the NCIA 2011 Training Conference is officially ON!

It is scheduled for August 21st – 24th, 2011 in the beautiful and historical east coast city of Savannah, GA. Home to many of our Nations historical sites and, of course, Paula Deen! I hope you have all received the e-mail, which includes conference registration and membership renewal information as well as a conference agenda. It is my hope and desire that every member state and state agency will be represented at this year’s historical East Coast Conference.

Here’s to a new format, a new partnership and a renewed pride and excitement in your National Construction Investigators Association!

Please do not hesitate to contact Dale or myself should you have any questions.

I’m looking forward to seeing ya’ll in Savannah!

Mike Brown, President
