To All Members of NCIA,
 
    First, I'd like to thank all of you that have renewed your membership for 2009 and encourage those who have not to please do so as soon as possible.

   Many of you responded as requested to my e-mail regarding your attendance at the 2009 Conference. However, I regret to inform you that after a somewhat exhausting and, yes, optimistic effort, I have had to make a tough, yet realistic, executive decision. I feel that it is in the best interest of our association to cancel our 2009 conference. This decision was not made lightly nor without many moments of anguish and frustration. However, due to the economic environment, the somewhat reduced ability of many states to participate due to budgetary challenges of their own as well as the challenge to provide a level of informational and educational material  worthy of our associations’ expectations, this tough decision was made.

    Myself, along with your 1st VP/ Sec. Dale Dawson, 2nd VP Tammi Jo Anders, Treasurer Greg Welch as well as all the State Directors will work hard to develop, plan and facilitate a 2010 conference we can all be proud of. We will need a lot of help over the next 12 months to make this a reality. I know that I can count on you to step up when asked to help and I need to start now by asking each of you to renew your membership for 2009 and 2010, recruit new members and begin making preparations to attend the 2010 Conference!

    We are at a challenging time in our Associations' life. However, with a continued joint effort, we can overcome this obstacle and resurface as a more valuable asset to our membership, our employers and our citizens.

    I will miss seeing ya'll this year. However, I leave you with the words of ole' Jed Clampett himself....

..."YA'LL COME BACK!! NOW HEAR!!!???"
